Physical Therapist
Dr. Alexander “Alex” Utech
PT, DPT. He is here to make you confident in your own body again, not just quiet the pain.
What it is like to be treated by Alex
Alex is an enthusiast. About movement, about learning, about the thing you are trying to get back to.
His whole approach is built on one idea: exercise is the medicine, and you are the one who takes it. So he spends the hour making sure you trust what your body can do, not just telling you what to avoid.
That confidence is usually the missing piece. Plenty of people leave pain behind and still move like they are protecting something.
One patient, a physical therapist himself, wrote:
“I have seen Aaron, Evan, and Alex, and if I could give these guys more than 5 stars I would. As a PT myself, these are the guys I go to when I need help getting back to my A-game.”
Paul S.
How he got here
Alex was born in Houston and raised in Texas, with time in Richmond and San Antonio. As a kid he wanted to be a paleontologist. The dinosaurs faded. The curiosity did not.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at The University of Texas at San Antonio, then his Doctor of Physical Therapy at the University of the Incarnate Word, where he made the Dean's List for multiple semesters.
Outside the clinic he trains, hikes, camps, fishes, runs the occasional mud run, games and stargazes. One trip he still talks about: paragliding over the Swiss Alps and hiking the Eiger Trail.
He is an Eagle Scout and a Spurs fan, he volunteers at the San Antonio Humane Society, and he lives with three cats named Haru, Xena and Dot.
