Dr. Joseph Hibner

Physical Therapist/ Clincal Director

PT, DPT, Cert. MSKU, FAAOMPT, Dip. Osteopractic

Joseph Hibner, PT, DPT, Cert. MSKU, FAAOMPT, Dip. Osteopractic, is a Doctor of Physical Therapy who specializes in helping active individuals get out of pain, move better, and return to the activities they love—stronger and more confident than before. Raised in a military family, Joe was born in Guam and moved frequently before settling in Houston, Texas, during middle school. That upbringing instilled adaptability, discipline, and a strong work ethic that continue to shape his approach to patient care.

Joe grew up immersed in athletics, competing in soccer, baseball, football, track & field, basketball, and tennis. This firsthand experience with training, competition, and injury gives him a deep understanding of the physical demands placed on active bodies—whether they are runners, lifters, weekend warriors, or competitive athletes.

While attending Texas State University, Joe earned his degree in Exercise and Sports Science and spent six years working as a personal trainer. During this time, he developed a strong foundation in strength training, movement mechanics, and performance programming—skills he now integrates seamlessly into rehabilitation. His transition into physical therapy was driven by a desire to go beyond short-term fixes and help people truly resolve pain while optimizing how their bodies function.

Before physical therapy school, Joe served in the United States Navy as an Aviation Maintenance Officer, further reinforcing his attention to detail, leadership, and accountability. He went on to earn his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas.

Joe is committed to lifelong learning and continuously refines his clinical skills to deliver high-level, individualized care. Outside the clinic, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, traveling, hiking, and being active in his church community at Alamo Community Church in downtown San Antonio.

Joe has also completed a fellowship with the American Academy of Manipulative Therapy, allowing him to provide advanced, hands-on care tailored to the needs of active patients seeking lasting results.
